“Let me start out by saying up front that I consider Bill Barber a friend. We had worked together in the past and then he went into real estate and I went into retirement. When we got ready to sell our last house we gave Bill a call. Of course I wanted more than the house was worth and I did not want to make any improvements. He had me lowering my price AND replacing bedroom carpets. I should mention I decided to sell when the market was going to hell in a hand basket. Kmart was going belly up, the big three were going belly down and home loans were hard to come by. So, we listed the house and the first week we get an offer. Of course it was way too low. But, Bill talked us off the ledge and explained how bad the market was and how lucky we were to get an offer the first week. My first reaction was I don't care, we are not going to accept it.
