Hosted By: Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC)

Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) look for ways to engage and support entrepreneurs on their journey as they move through the startup and scaleup stages of business growth. Each community is different, defining its own best ways to support its entrepreneurs. Still, there are common blocks to build upon when establishing entrepreneurship programs that support entrepreneurs “where they are.” Regardless of the availability or lack of resources, there are numerous ways to engage and support entrepreneurs. It is equally important to support them based on their backgrounds — such as whether a person “has to” or “chooses to” be an entrepreneur. Speaker Faris Alami, Founder and CEO, International Strategic Management, Inc. Faris Alami has worked in over 100 countries on entrepreneurship programming. He will share how understanding cultural competency can have a big impact on the results of the programming, who to engage during the development timeline, ways various communities have engaged their diverse entrepreneurs, and other best practices for deploying programs for under-served, under-represented or under-resourced communities locally and globally.
